During the seminar directors and specialists of amusement parks, entertainment centers and other leisure facilities of Nizhny Novgorod will share their managing experience and their plans for development.

Sormovsky Park is one of the biggest parks of Nizhny Novgorod. There is a wide range of entertainment: kiddie playgrounds, various family and extreme rides, a zoo and a kiddie club Madagaskar, waterpark Caribs, carting, all season skating ring and an adventure park. The park is also a great place for a quiet leisure – on the territory of the park there are relict forests, oak woods and birch alleys which are perfect for promenades. In 2015one more interesting object will be open for public – a dolphinarium.

10:00 – 10:40 – Tour to an Edutainment Museum «Quarki»
Edutainment museum «Quarki» - is an interactive science and entertainment center where adults and kids dive into the world of physical phenomena and incredible discoveries. On the territory of 1600sq.m. there are over 100 interactive exhibits which demonstrate the laws of physics and explain various natural phenomena. In the center different show programs, seminars and entertainment events are regularly arranged.

11:25 – 12:10 – Tour to «Avtozavodsky Park of Culture and Leisure», meeting with the management.
Avtozavodsky Park – is the Central park of culture and leisure of the biggest region of Nizhny Novgorod – Avtozavodsky. The park has a long history, this year it celebrates its 80th anniversary. Many events are held in the park – celebrations of national and traditional holidays, as well as cultural and entertainment programs, e.g. the Fisher’s Day and a folk crafts fair attract a significant number of guests. There are also two zones with amusement rides and several cafes.
12:20 – 13:50 – Tour to the legendary «GAZ» plant: the main assembly line and the Automobile History Museum.
Gorky Automobile Plant «GAZ» - is the biggest manufacturer of passenger cars and trucks, as well as coach buses and military vehicles which was founded in 1932 as a Nizhegorodsky automobile plant named after V.M. Molotov. In 2005 the Gorky auto plant was included into the biggest automobile production holding «GAZ Group». In the history museum of GAZ plant you can see the unique documentary records and an automobile collection.

10:00 – 18:00 – during the sightseeing tour participants will visit the key places of interest of the city: Nizhegorodskaya Fair; Rozhdesvenskaya Church (18th century) with the famous carved iconostasis and white external thread; Nizhegorodsky Kremlin – the unique fortification of the early 16th century which includes Mikhailo-Arkhangelsky Cathedral with the tomb of Kozma Minin and an exhibition of military equipment models; Chkalovskaya ladder.
Participants will also enjoy two unique rides: aerial tramway across the Volga River and a waterway on a cruise vessel. A walking tour along the main street Bolshaya Pokrovskaya will allow get acquainted with places associated with the names of the famous citizens of Nizhny Novgorod (I.P. Kulibin, M. Gorky, V.P. Chkalov and others) and the local arts and crafts.

of the 4th International Summer Forum
of amusement industry specialists in Nizhny Novgorod
On July 15-17, 2015 the 4th International Summer Forum of experts of cultural and leisure sphere “Amusement industry in the regions of Russia" took place in Nizhny Novgorod.
The Organizer - Russian Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions (RAAPA), with the support of the Administration of Nizhny Novgorod and the Ministry of Culture of Nizhegorodsky region. More than 120 specialists of various directions of leisure sphere from 50 cities of Russia (Moscow, Saint Petersburg, Kazan, Izhevsk, Saransk, Yekaterinburg, Cheboksary, Tomsk, Irkutsk, Krasnodar, Belgorod, Krasnoyarsk, Kursk, Orel, Novokuznetsk, Omsk, Rostov-on-Don, Tula, Taganrog and others) as well as from foreign countries – Italy, Spain, Germany and Kazakhstan participated in the Forum. Among them: directors and top managers of parks, entertainment centers, resorts, cultural institutions, leisure complexes, representatives of cities’ administrations, manufacturers of entertainment equipment and other parties of concern.
It is worth to point out a representative delegation of Buzuluk city, Orenburg region, headed by the mayor Valery A. Rogozhkin. As the head of the city noted at the opening of the Forum, now parks and recreation areas are being actively reconstructed in Buzuluk which led to their participation in RAAPA Summer Forum.
Of course, this year at the Forum there were many specialists from Nizhny Novgorod. All big city parks and representatives from entertainment complexes participated in the event. Some of them should open soon, e.g. a big waterpark located in Avtozavodsky area. The director of constructing company, Andrey Dudkin, noted that it would be a unique waterpark that would not only bring entertainment to visitors of all age groups, but also would take into account the needs of people with disabilities for whom a special rehabilitation program will be worked out.
The opening of RAAPA Summer Forum took place in Marins-Park Hotel. Director of the Department of Culture of Nizhny Novgorod, Larisa Y. Motorina, welcomed the participants. She underlined the importance of holding the Forum in Nizhny Novgorod with many parks and other entertainment facilities. The Summer Forum should give the impulse to the development of amusement industry in the region, help to attract investors and experts to the implementation of important social and cultural projects.
On the first day of the event directors of parks and entertainment centers of Nizhny Novgorod made their speech and discussed the following issues: creation of modern public and recreation areas, implementation of new entertainment formats, edutainment as a modern approach to combine education and entertainment, problems of making business in terms of crisis, choosing the best service range for parks and FECs, the specifics of municipal enterprises operation, etc.
This year RAAPA Summer Forum acquired new traditions. Directors of amusement complex Park Switzerland – Natalya S. Mikhalko and Victor N. Mikhalko were awarded with diplomas by the Ministry of Culture of Nizhegorodsky region. Another good tradition, as we hope, will become a presentation of largescale projects at RAAPA Summer Forum. This time it was a theme park Friendship of Peoples (Irkutsk).
Russian and foreign manufacturers of amusement rides and entertainment equipment made presentations of their products and services within the frameworks of RAAPA Summer Forum. Among the speakers were presented well-known brands as well as newcomers in amusement industry: RIF, PlaySpace, UCS, Wiegand.Maelzer (Germany), Qubica AMF (USA), Bolid, Antonio Zamperla (Italy), PRO-mix company, ZEBEC (Spain), Carousel, PO GROS, Air Palace, DataKrat, Game City, ROMANA, Center of Safety of Attractions, Avrora Games, DIAMET, Sparta, Italpark, Center of Testing, Inspection and Certification “Safety” and others. Companies presented various opportunities for the organization of leisure. Very soon the entertainment novelties will appear in parks, museums and FECs of Nizhny Novgorod and other cities.
The second day of the Summer Forum started with a master-class “New strategies of efficiency improvement of amusement industry facilities” moderated by Lyudmila Kiselyova – a well-known expert on the management of entertainment complexes. During the master-class participants discussed the operation experience of some entertainment facilities and the problems that face the industry business today.
Another aspect that makes RAAPA Summer Forums attractive for professionals – is the opportunity to visit parks and FECs in the high peak of the season and meet personally with the directors.
The visited objects this year were:
Sormovsky Park – is one of the biggest parks of Nizhny Novgorod with a wide range of entertainment: from kiddie playgrounds and rides to a zoo and a waterpark.
Edutainment museum «Quarki» - is an interactive science and entertainment center with over 100 interactive exhibits which demonstrate the laws of physics and explain various natural phenomena.
FEC Riviera - is one of the best entertainment complexes of Nizhny Novgorod aimed at a wide range of visitors of all age groups. Besides visiting the complex, participants also tasted local food during lunch time.
Probably, one of the most exciting moments during RAAPA Summer Forum was not connected with amusement industry at all. During the event participants visited the legendary Gorky Automobile Plant (GAZ) where they could get acquainted with its history, visit the assembly line and see with their own eyes how cars of the famous brand “GAZ” are created.
The last part of the business program was a visit to Avtozavodsky Park of culture and leisure – the central park of the biggest area of the city. Here the participants of RAAPA Summer Forum in Nizhny Novgorod were awarded with diplomas.
The third day was traditionally devoted to an excursion program.
During the sightseeing tour participants enjoyed a boat trip on the Volga River, visited the key places of interest of Nizhny Novgorod: Rozhdesvenskaya Street, Alexander Nevsky Cathedral, Rozhdesvenskaya Church, Nizhegorodsky Kremlin, Bolshaya Pokrovskaya Street, Yurkov Gallery, etc. Participants also enjoyed a unique ride by an aerial tramway across the Volga. Everyone was excited with the city view and the warm sunny weather during the day contributed much to positive impressions.
According to the feedback of the majority of participants, RAAPA Summer Forum in Nizhny Novgorod was held successfully and productively surpassing all expectations. Everybody noted the high-class organization, the relevance of the program, as well as a business friendly atmosphere that prevailed at the event. Industry experts expressed the opinion that holding of such forums at so high level contributes to the development and popularity of amusement industry in the regions of Russia and provides a unique opportunity to communicate with colleagues from all over the country.
RAAPA Summer Forum 2015 in Nizhny Novgorod will last long in the memories of all participants. Its success lies not only in excellent organization and interesting program, but also in the fact that everyone felt here an integral part of the community of amusement industry professionals, a part of a big and meaningful event which certainly contributes to the development of cultural and leisure industry in our country.
