50 forest zones will be landscaped in the Moscow region under the program "Parks in the forest"

27 august 2021

In April 202, the Governor of the Moscow Region, Andrei Vorobyov, announced a new “Parks in the Woods” program. Within the framework of this program, it is planned to equip 50 parks in the forests near Moscow within 5 years. At the same time, interference with nature should be minimal.

After the landscaping of the forest zones, residents of the Moscow region will be able to spend their time there comfortably and safely. The program deals with forest land plots in municipalities that are popular among city dwellers, where there are no landscaped areas yet.
Within the framework of the program, the following improvement elements will appear in forest parks:

  • entrance area with parking;
  • walking paths for movement from one part of the park to another;
  • separate paths for cyclists (in winter, these routes can become ski tracks);
  • kiddie, sports or themed playgrounds;
  • lighting;
  • toilets;
  • waste bins;
  • benches for rest;
  • video cameras;
  • picnic areas.

This year it is planned to complete work in 9 forest park zones: Kuzminsky forest park (Kotelniki urban district); "City Forest" (Domodedovo urban district); Sports park named after Larisa Lazutina (Odintsovo urban district); Linden Grove (Odintsovo urban district); Park "Virazhi" (Odintsovo urban district); Malevich park (Odintsovo urban district); park "Mozhaiskaya Riviera" (Mozhaisky urban district); Vidnovsky forest park (Leninsky urban district); Pestovsky Park (Balashikha urban district).

In 2022, 10 more forests will be landscaped.

Territories for future improvement were chosen by the residents of the Moscow region on the Dobrodel portal from 8 to 22 July using electronic voting. All landscaping works are coordinated with the Forestry Committee of the Moscow Region.
