9 new parks are planned to be built in Almaty
According to BaigeNews.kz, the city hosted an online presentation «Development of Almaty in 2021: improvement and gardening projects», during which Bakytzhan Sagintayev , the akim of the metropolis, announced plans for the development of urban spaces.
Sagintayev noted that now there are only two large parks in Almaty - the First President park and the central recreation park, but this is not enough for the metropolis and it is planned to open its own park in each city district.
«Considering that there is a problem of lack of land, work is underway to return eight land plots to create new recreations. They also returned two plots in the square of Kurmangazy, Abylai Khan, Shevchenko, Panfilov streets for the organization of park zones. At the same time, 120 hectares were given for greening the city and preserving the natural landscape, this will create a comfortable environment for the townspeople», the presentation said.
